A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will provide $1.6 million towards key infrastructure upgrades for the Queanbeyan Bowls Club.
This election commitment will support the development of a canopy to cover the green, offering weather protection to add comfort, useability and longevity.
The canopy will provide all weather playing conditions, establishing the club as the premier lawn bowling facility in the Canberra region.
The project will also include upgrades to concrete access paths around the green, as well as spectator seating upgrades.
The project will put Queanbeyan on the sporting map with an upgraded facility able to attract regional competitions, providing an economic benefit to the broader Queanbeyan region.
Lawn bowls is gaining popularity in the region through competition, barefoot and social bowls and is enjoyed by a large cross section of our community.
Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
