The Albanese Labor Government has announced new grant funding for farmers, including in Eden-Monaro, to tackle sustainable agriculture at the grassroots level.

Delivered through the $302 million Climate-Smart Agriculture Program, grants will support farmers respond to climate change and to become more sustainable into the future.

Small Grants between $10,000 and $100,000 are available for individual farmers, along with farming, community, and Indigenous groups to lead diverse projects - from better natural resource management, to reducing chemical use, and improving soil health.

The Climate-Smart Agriculture Program includes a variety of investment streams to target agricultural sustainability, productivity, and competitiveness.

Applications for the first round of Small Grants close on 4 June 2024.
