THE HON KRISTY MCBAIN MP
MEMBER FOR EDEN-MONARO
DAN REPACHOLI MP
SPECIAL ENVOY FOR MEN’S HEALTH
Special Envoy for Men’s Health Dan Repacholi MP and Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain have visited Queanbeyan and Goulburn to help raise awareness of the unique health challenges facing men and boys in regional Australia.
Dan is committed to using his advocacy role to shine a national spotlight on the unique health challenges facing Australian men and boys, from mental health and suicide prevention to chronic illness and access to healthcare services.
He is passionate about working closely with experts, advocates, and the community to ensure a health system that works for everyone.
Over 7 and 8 August Dan spent time in Eden-Monaro listening and talking to men, local organisations, veterans and their families and students about the importance of looking after your health.
Dan has faced his own health challenges and happy to share his personal experience on the road to good health.
“I want to see fewer blokes falling through the cracks. That means earlier intervention, better access to services, especially in rural and regional areas, and making it okay for men to speak up when they’re struggling.
“I’ve had my own health challenges and if I can help even one bloke reach out instead of suffering in silence, then this role is worth it.” Dan Repacholi
Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain said it was great to have Dan in the electorate raising awareness for a whole range of issues.
“Dan is a strong voice in government for men’s health, and it has been great to visit Queanbeyan and Goulburn to have really open discussions about the health issues facing men and boys.
“It’s so important to raise awareness, break down stigma and making sure support is accessible where it’s needed.
“It is so important relationships between federal, state and local governments be open, strong and constructive - because when those relationships are robust, we get the best results.” Kristy McBain
