THE HON KRISTY MCBAIN MP
Member for Eden-Monaro
Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain today opened a new classroom and playground extension at Thomas More Christian Montessori School which will improve student educational outcomes.
Work on the new facilities was delivered with support of Australian Government funding of $150,000 through the Capital Grants Program.
“A lot of work has gone into this project which has delivered a redeveloped undercroft area providing additional classroom space and a covered outdoor education and recreation area,” Minister McBain said.
“These new facilities will provide school staff, teachers and students at Thomas More Christian Montessori School with better, more modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn.
“The Albanese Government is committed to providing all schools with appropriate funding so that all students, including those at Thomas More Christian Montessori School in Bega, get the best possible education.”
Minister McBain said the new facilities would benefit the students currently at Thomas More Christian Montessori School, as well as the many students to follow in the future years.
“The teachers, staff and students at Thomas More Christian Montessori School have built a strong and positive school community and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities,” Minister McBain said.
“Our Government strongly believes in providing the best possible resources so that local students can realise their potential and develop the skills they need to go on to further study or join the workforce.”
