THE HON KRISTY MCBAIN MP
Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories
Member for Eden-Monaro
Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain today opened general learning areas, a library and a covered outdoor learning area at St Joseph’s School which will improve student educational outcomes.
Minister McBain said work on the development project was delivered with support of Australian Government funding of $444,312 through the Capital Grants Program.
“A lot of work has gone into this project which has delivered refurbishment of general learning areas, a library and a covered outdoor area,” Minister McBain said.
“These new facilities will provide school staff, teachers and students at St Joseph’s School with better, more modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn.
“The Australian Government is committed to providing all schools with appropriate funding so that all students, including those in St Joseph’s School, Bombala, get the best possible education.”
Minister McBain said the new facilities would benefit the students currently at St Joseph’s School, as well as the many students who will follow in future years.
“The teachers, staff and students at St Joseph’s School have built a strong and positive school community and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities,” Minister McBain said.
“Our Government strongly believes in providing the best possible resources so that local students can realise their potential and develop the skills they need to go on to further study or to find a job.”
