Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain today opened refurbished specialist areas, new general learning areas and an outdoor learning space at McAuley Catholic Central School which will improve student educational outcomes.

Minister McBain said work on the development project was delivered with support of Australian Government funding of $1,882,488 through the Capital Grants Program.

“A lot of work has gone into this project which has delivered the refurbished art, science and technical and applied studies area, new general learning areas and an outdoor learning area,” Minister McBain said.

“These new facilities will provide school staff, teachers and students at McAuley Catholic Central School with better, more modern spaces in which to work, teach and learn.

“The Australian Government is committed to providing all schools with appropriate funding so that all students, including those in McAuley Catholic Central School, Tumut, get the best possible education.”

Minister McBain said the new facilities would benefit the students currently at McAuley Catholic Central School, as well as the many students who will follow in future years.

“The teachers, staff and students at McAuley Catholic Central School have built a strong and positive school community and these new facilities will further enhance our local educational opportunities,” Minister McBain said.

“Our Government strongly believes in providing the best possible resources so that local students can realise their potential and develop the skills they need to go on to further study or to find a job.”
