A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will provide $2.5 million towards the redevelopment of the Ford Park Pavillion in Merimbula.

This election commitment will support the renewal and upgrade of the current pavilion to establish a regional sports hub for multiple sporting codes and community events.

The current Ford Park Pavillion no longer meets current standards and our community’s needs.

The project will include new change rooms, a kiosk, club social rooms, toilets, a covered outdoor area and the completion of the skatepark redevelopment.

The facilities will not only cater for local competition and training but will provide opportunities for local and regional events, such as the ‘Merimbula Classic’ multi-day event hosted by Merimbula Sailboard Club.

Upgraded facilities at Ford Park will be well utilised by many sporting groups including netball, basketball, Merimbula Sailboard Club, Sapphire Coast Boardriders Club and provides storage for the annual Surf Lifesaving summer patrol.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.
