Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain today announced that an Albanese Labor Government will invest $250,000 to fund a women’s changeroom at George Brown Memorial Oval in Eden.

If elected, this investment will transform the Eden Tigers Rugby League Club and enable it to further develop women’s sport.

“Sporting clubs like the Eden Tigers Rugby League Club are the hub of a community, and I’m so pleased to make this commitment towards women’s sport,” Ms McBain said.

“Women’s sport has well and truly taken off in Australia, but in regional communities it is often held back by a lack of facilities.

“Congratulations to the club and the Eden community which has long campaigned for these sporting facilities.

“Small investments like this can make a big difference in the local community and only Labor will lead on these commitments that make our community stronger.”

Ms McBain announced the funding at the Eden Tigers Rugby League training session tonight.
