The Mulloon Institute in Bungendore has been jointly awarded $3.79 million as part of a consortium under the Albanese Government’s Climate-Smart Agriculture Program to develop an innovative toolkit for building and measuring landscape resilience.

The toolkit, called LiFT, will provide farmers and land managers with simple, cost-effective methods to manage landscapes in response to climate challenges.

LiFT is designed to help landscapes retain essential resources like water and nutrients, making them more resilient to natural disasters and other environmental pressures.

Co-designed with experts, First Nations groups, and researchers, the toolkit will be adaptable to different farming operations and align with natural capital markets and the Nature Repair compliance framework.

This project is part of the Albanese Government’s commitment to supporting climate-smart farming.

The $45 million Partnerships and Innovation Grant Round is funding 12 projects across the country to develop new technologies and practices that reduce environmental impact while improving agricultural productivity and profitability.
