A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will provide $370,000 towards infrastructure upgrades at David Campese Oval, the home of the Queanbeyan Whites.
This election commitment will support the delivery of critical upgrades at the ground, including fencing the perimeter of the oval and nets.
Rugby Australia recently completed a national infrastructure audit, identifying the Queanbeyan Whites as the sole premier club in our region without an enclosed facility, a requirement soon to be mandated for Tier 1 competitions.
This project is not only vital for the Queanbeyan Whites, but an enclosed field would also enable the venue to host finals, regional tournaments, talent camps and elite pathway programs.
This would be a boon for local businesses, with a significant influx of patrons expected to visit the town regularly to attend and participate in these events.
The Albanese Government is delivering the Bungendore Sports Hub and the women’s changerooms at Freebody Oval, and if re-elected will deliver this crucial project at David Campese Oval – we are absolutely committed to upgrading our local sporting facilities.
